Garden Renovation, Tufnell Park, N19

Radical renovations had been done to this house, and the front and back gardens had been completed by the builder, with some of the old hard landscaping remaining in the front.
The clients love plants and enjoy gardening, so wanted a complete redesign of the planting, with a vibrant, ‘hot’ garden at the front and a bin store with an alpine roof, and at the back, soft, informal plants with interest through the changing seasons to frame the large lawn.
Once all the soil had been improved and topped up, the old, cracked paths in the front garden were disguised with flowers and grasses that would spill over the edges and a large, flowering cornus is a stunning centrepiece. In the back garden, new steps and raised bed resolve the issues with the existing hard landscaping and make the journey through the garden more relaxed. We widened, extended and irrigated the borders at the back and pruned the existing trees and large climbing rose to show off the new, layered planting to its best effect.
