Primary School One

Many of the children at this Catholic primary school live in flats and do not have access to outside space. An area that had been neglected for many years was transformed into an outdoor classroom and sanctuary that would both attract wildlife and stimulate the children’s interest in nature as well as provide them with a sanctuary for reflection and reading.

In another part of the school, a new playground area offered up space for a garden for the youngest children. A living willow arbour, dancing grasses and vibrant perennials are a magnet for bees and butterflies, as well as offering a colourful, exciting space to play in.
